Albums and folders

An album is a set of photos, such as “The wedding”. A folder splits an album into parts, such as “Ceremony” or “Day 3”.

  • New album makes an album. New folder makes a folder inside it.
  • Drag folders into order. On a phone, press Edit order first.
  • Photos that are not in a folder are in “Not in a folder”.

Tap or click photos to select them. A bar appears. With it you can:

  • Move them to another folder or album.
  • Tag them. See Tags below.
  • Set Featured.
  • Move them to Trash. The bar offers Undo straight away. See Recently deleted.

Photos have tags, such as Dancing or Kids, which guests can use to look at one kind of photo. The site gives each photo a few when it describes it. You can correct them.

  1. Select the photos.
  2. Press Tag. A list of your tags opens, such as “Tag 30 photos”.
  3. Each tag says how many of the selected photos have it: “On none”, “On 6 of 30” or “On all 30”. It also says what choosing it will do.
  4. Choose a tag. If all the photos have it, it is taken off all of them. Otherwise it is added to all of them.

The bar then says what happened, such as “Tagged 30 photos “Dancing””, with Undo. Undo puts every photo’s tags back exactly as they were. It is there for a few seconds only.

A tag you take off is not put back by the site later.

Above an album’s photos is a row of its tags, each with how many photos it has. Choose one to see only those photos. All shows everything again. No tags shows the photos with no tag, which is a quick way to find those to tag next.

Settings, then Tags, has your list. Each tag shows how many photos have it, and the number is a link to those photos. A tag in more than one album has a link for each album.

A new site starts with a list for a wedding day: Getting ready, Ceremony, Bride and groom, Wedding party, Family, Friends, Kids, Kiss, Speeches, First dance, Dancing, Cake, Food and drink, Flowers, Details, Photo booth and Scenery. Change it as you like. “None” cannot be a tag name.

Press a photo’s “•••” to open it large. There you can add a caption, set Featured, use it as the cover, move it and change its tags.

An album or folder can have a cover photo, which guests see on its tile. Open a photo and choose it as the album or folder cover.

Featured is the first thing guests see in an album: about one photo in five, spread through the day.

Select photos and press Featured to choose one of three things:

  • Always: the photo is featured.
  • Never: the photo is not.
  • Let the site choose: the site picks, but only from photos it has described.

For photos that are not in a folder yet. Say when each part of the day started, check where each photo would go, then press the button at the bottom.

Nothing moves until you press it, and you can undo it.
